Dermal fillers are one of the world’s most popular non-surgical treatment options for restoring a more youthful appearance to the face or hands. Most
FDA-approved dermal fillers are made of a smooth gel packed with a modified-form of hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules. This smooth gel works to correct volume loss, to shape the face by enhancing existing features, and to smooth wrinkles, revealing a more youthful appearance within minutes.

We carry multiple Restylane products including Restylane-L®, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Kysse, Restylane® Lyft, Restylane® Defyne and Restylane® Refyne, Restylane® Contour. Restylane was the first HA filler to be approved by the FDA and has a long and proven safety record.

  • Which Juvéderm fillers do you carry?

We carry Juvederm® Ultra or Juvederm® Ultra Plus (a thicker and longer lasting Juvéderm) and Juvéderm Voluma™ XC. Juvéderm Voluma is a completely unique filler designed to add the youthful volume back into your cheeks and restore facial contour. It fills and lifts the skin around your cheekbones, providing natural contour and volume. It can last up to two years with advanced injection techniques.

  • How do I know which filler is right for me?

A consultation is best to determine which filler is best for you! That said, ideal candidates for wrinkle filler are in good physical health and have realistic expectations for improvement. Patients must understand that filler is temporary and repeat injections are needed to maintain results.

  • What are the possible side effects of dermal fillers?

Side effects are mild. There is the possibility of temporary bruising at the injection site as well as some swelling, numbness, redness and tenderness, but these usually dissipate after a few days. In rare instances, small bumps may appear on the skin. Those with skin conditions such as sores, acne, rashes, hives, cysts or cold sores should delay treatment until healed, as injections might delay healing or worsen the condition.

  • What happens during the injection process?

Injectable wrinkle treatment is a quick outpatient procedure performed in our office with either a local or topical anesthesia for patient comfort. A fine needle or blunt needle with a side port known as a cannula is used to inject.

  • How long do dermal fillers last?

Results are immediate and will last from 6 months to 2 years. This can vary based on the area injected, the best filler suitable for a patient’s goals, and patient characteristics.

  • What are the dermal filler side effects I should know about?

Possible side effects and risks include infection, bruising, swelling, redness, pain and/or tenderness. Post-procedure swelling is expected. Most of these are temporary and disappear within a week; in rare cases, long-term side effects may occur.

Like all cosmetic injectables, it’s vital for your dermal fillers to be performed by an experienced aesthetic physician. Poorly administered filler can cause unsatisfactory results including negatively impacting your appearance or even an adverse reaction.

Collagen Stimulators

If you’re looking to refresh your overall appearance and turn back years with your body’s very own collagen growth, it’s time to take a closer look at collagen stimulators in Houston, Texas. We proudly administer two FDA-approved collagen stimulators: Radiesse® and Sculptra®. These safe and clinically proven injectable treatments can help you achieve a younger-looking appearance and several other aesthetic benefits with incredible ease.

FAQ: Collagen Stimulators in Houston, TX

  • How dose Radiesse work?

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler made from made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in gel that very closely resemble the natural cells in your face. This gel has a firmer consistency, so it is a good choice for deep lines like the marionettes or for the cheeks, jawbone and temples.

Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is unique in the sense that it stimulates collagen growth in a specific area. It leverage the use of calcium hydroxylapatite, which is naturally found in the body as a part of our bones. While this product is most commonly used to reduce wrinkles and folds, it can also be used to fill hollows caused by aging, injury, scarring, weight loss and disease-related lipoatrophy.

  • What happens during the Radiesse procedure?

Radiesse injections are fast and typically require no downtime. Patients should expect minimal bruising, and swelling can be seen after placement. After the injection, patients can resume normal activities but are advised to stay out of the sun for a period of time. Injections can be completed within about 30-45 minutes. These are safe and effective injections that don’t require any pre-injection allergy testing.

  • When will I see my Radiesse results?

Radiesse injections provide instant results that you can see before you walk out of the clinic. However, full results are seen within one week of injection.

  • How long does Radiesse wrinkle filler last?

Radiesse results typically last a year, or up to two years. Like all injectables, Radiesse must be expertly placed by a cosmetic physician in order to achieve optimal results.

  • How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid found in absorbable sutures or stiches. In aesthetics, it is used to help restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. This safe injectable filler helps to stimulate your body to produce collagen due to an inflammatory reaction. Results are not immediate for Sculptra (unlike Radiesse); however it causes your body to naturally produce collagen to gradually restore facial volume.

  • Is Sculptra right for me?

    Ideal Sculptra candidates are:

    • Patients in good health.
    • Patients with realistic expectations.
    • Patients who understand results occur over time and are temporary.
    • Patients looking to treat areas of overall volume loss (as opposed to targeted lines and wrinkles).

Sculptra is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • What is Sculptra treatment like?

Sculptra requires a series of three to four injections spaced four to six weeks apart, with each session building upon the preceding session. Sculptra injections are fast with minimal side effects, but can include bruising, swelling and redness at the injection site. Local anesthesia or topical numbing may be used for patient comfort. After the injection, patients can resume normal activities right away. The area must be massaged over the first few days to avoid any lumps or bumps.

  • How long does Sculptra last?

Sculptra results gradually become visible typically after the second injection. You can expect results to last for two years and even longer in some patients. Results can be maintained using maintenance injections once optimal results are achieved.

Non-surgical Rhinoplasty in Houston, TX

As the focal point of the face, the nose can significantly impact a patient’s confidence and appearance. Non-surgical rhinoplasty in Houston, Texas can help improve facial harmony and bring balance to your profile. Also known as a non-surgical nose job or liquid rhinoplasty, a non-surgical rhinoplasty refers to altering the shape and size of the nose without a surgical incision. It is an in-office, convenient alternative to the complex rhinoplasty surgery. This specialized procedure involves the use of high-quality injectable fillers to reshape the nose and provide temporary nasal and profile balancing.

FAQ: Liquid Rhinoplasty in Houston, TX

  • What happens during a non-surgical nose job?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed in the office and can take approximately 30-45 minutes. It is common to need up to two procedures to achieve the desired goals. The skin is first numbed and then the appropriate filler is used to reshape the nose, fix unwanted bumps or lift the tip. The result is evident immediately, although post-procedure swelling is expected.

  • Is a liquid rhinoplasty right for me?

Many people experience outstanding results with liquid rhinoplasty, but Dr. Bender does recommend traditional rhinoplasty surgery for any patient who desires a permanent repair or has a history of trauma or breathing issues. Dr. Bender may recommend liquid rhinoplasty to healthy adults who are seeking cosmetic changes to their nose without invasive surgery and have goals favorable to this procedure. Patients must have realistic expectations and understand the limitations of the procedure. An injectable nose job cannot adjust underlying nasal structure that may be affecting breathing.

  • Is a non-surgical rhinoplasty painful?

Non-surgical cosmetic treatments have increased in popularity due to their fast recovery time and minimally invasive approach. Many fillers have numbing agents in their formulations, but topical numbing can also be applied before treatment to increase comfort.

  • Can the results be permanent?

Although this procedure is temporary, filler does tend to last longer on an area like the nose and commonly will be present for over one year. It also can give an immediate improvement in nasal contour without surgical downtime or significant post-procedure restrictions.
