What is Liposcution?

Liposuction is a highly specialized surgical process that involves the removal of excess fat from specific areas of the body. The power of liposuction lies in its personalization.

Liposuction is commonly performed on the hips, thighs, buttocks, arms and neck. The procedure is highly adaptable, allowing you to target your unique concerns and body areas. Dr. Ritrosky utilizes advanced surgical techniques to minimize any potential scarring and maximize your overall result.

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under intravenous anesthesia. Small suction tubes, called cannulas, are inserted through very short incisions placed in inconspicuous locations near the fat deposits, and excess fat is removed. Liposuction offers enduring results that extend well beyond physical aesthetics, it’s not just about shedding excess fat; it’s about shedding self-doubt and embracing a healthier, more confident version of yourself!

What Does the Healing Process Look Like?

Following your liposuction procedure, you’ll transition into a period of recovery and healing, typically involving a few days of downtime. While some swelling and discomfort may arise, oral pain medication effectively manages these temporary effects. You will go home with a compression garment covering the treated areas. Compression is advised for about 4-6 weeks, as it helps reduce swelling and tends to help achieve optimal final results in a shorter time frame. Once pain and soreness fades, patients often wear lycra or spandex exercise pants for comfort and compression. Bruising and swelling usually subside in 2-4 weeks. Everyone heals differently, but most people see their final results in 2-3 months. We are always here and happy to address any questions or concerns that arise.

Other Options:

Other procedures that are typically combined with liposuction to enhance results are Abdominoplasty (“tummy tuck”), Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation, and Breast Reduction.
