Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty in Fort Myers, FL

Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, is a transformative surgical procedure designed to reshape and redefine the abdomen. Over time, factors such as pregnancy, weight fluctuations, and the natural aging process can lead to excess skin and weakened muscles in the abdominal region.

Abdominoplasty offers a life-changing opportunity to regain a flatter, more toned stomach and improved abdominal contours. This surgery is not just about aesthetics; it’s about enhancing your physical comfort and confidence. Dr. Ritrosky and our team understand the profound impact of abdominoplasty and are dedicated to guiding you towards a more sculpted, confident, and revitalized you, with a focus on precision and ensuring that your results are exceptional.

What is Abdominoplasty?

Abdominoplasty involves the removal of excess abdominal skin and the tightening of weakened abdominal muscles, resulting in a flatter, more toned stomach. Dr. John D. Ritrosky pays meticulous attention to your unique body type, ensuring a natural and aesthetically pleasing outcome. He utilizes advanced surgical techniques to minimize scarring and create a sculpted abdominal appearance. This procedure is highly customizable, allowing you to tailor your results to your desires and needs. In most cases, minimal scarring is hidden below the bikini line.

Full, mini, and modified abdominoplasties are done on an outpatient basis under intravenous anesthesia. Mini-abdominoplasties tighten the lower abdominal wall skin only, which leaves the shortest scar out of the different procedure types. A modified abdominoplasty addresses conditions where just the muscle wall or just the abdominal skin requires repair. Standard abdominoplasty procedures tighten all of the abdominal wall skin and muscles. Finally, an extended abdominoplasty tightens the abdomen and the flanks or sides, this scar may extend around to the lower back.

What Does the Healing Process Look Like?

Following abdominoplasty, recovery will likely involve a few weeks of downtime.

Abdominoplasties can often require a longer recovery time than other plastic surgery procedures. Patients are encouraged to start moving and walking regularly within 1-2 days for an optimal recovery process. Remember that every individual heals differently and it is important to reintroduce activities gradually and mindfully. Any swelling and discomfort can be managed with oral pain medication. Our team is always happy to address questions and concerns you may have before or after your procedure.

Additional procedures that are frequently paired with abdominoplasties are Liposuction and/or breast procedures.
