Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction Surgery in Fort Myers, FL

Breast reduction surgery, known as reduction mammaplasty, is a life-changing procedure designed to alleviate the physical and emotional burdens of overly large breasts. Excessively large breasts can lead to a range of issues, including chronic pain, posture problems, and emotional discomfort. Breast reduction offers a transformative opportunity to regain comfort and confidence by reducing the size and weight of the breasts.

Male breast reduction, otherwise known as Gynecomastia, is a solution to a very common condition found in almost half of the male population. This procedure will remove any excessive fat, skin, or glandular tissue, leading to a firmer, flatter appearance of the chest area.

Reduction surgeries go beyond aesthetics; it’s about enhancing your quality of life. Dr. Ritrosky and our team understand the profound impact of breast reduction and are dedicated to guiding you towards a lighter, more balanced, and self-assured you, with a focus on precision and ensuring that your results are tailored to your specific goals.

What is breast reduction surgery?

Breast reduction surgery is a precise process that involves the removal of excess breast tissue and reshaping the breasts to achieve a more proportionate size. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under intravenous anesthesia. Incisions are made around the pigmented area, called the nipple-areolar complex, and extend vertically below the nipple. The nipple-areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location and excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are removed.

Dr. Ritrosky works meticulously to create a harmonious and natural breast profile while minimizing scarring. This procedure is highly customizable, allowing you to tailor your results to your specific goals and desires. The transformation achieved through breast reduction is not just physical; it’s a journey towards a more comfortable and confident life.

What does the healing process look like?

After breast reduction surgery, the recuperation and healing process varies from individual to individual. While you may experience some swelling and mild discomfort, these can be effectively managed with oral pain medication. The recovery period generally involves a few days of downtime, during which it’s advisable to refrain from strenuous activities.

Over the following weeks, you’ll begin to experience the relief that comes with your reduced breast size. Physical discomfort and pain will diminish, posture issues will improve, and a newfound sense of confidence will emerge. We are always here to address questions and concerns.
