Facelift in Fort Myers, FL

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a transformative surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate your appearance and enhance your self-esteem. Over time, factors like aging, gravity, and exposure to the elements can lead to sagging facial skin and the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. A facelift offers a life-changing opportunity to turn back the clock, restoring a more youthful, refreshed appearance. This surgery is about more than just looking younger; it’s about boosting your self-confidence and embracing your best self.

Dr. Ritrosky and our dedicated team are here to guide you through this transformative experience, with precision at the forefront to ensure truly exceptional outcomes. Dr. Ritrosky uses a multi-layer approach to reconstruct and reshape the muscles, connective tissue, and skin. This approach is much less traumatic to these structures and gentler to tissues, allowing for optimal results with a smoother healing process.

What is a facelift?

A facelift is a highly specialized surgical process that involves the removal of excess facial skin and the tightening of underlying muscles. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under intravenous anesthesia. Facelift procedures are highly adaptable, ranging from “mini” to “full” depending on location and extent of skin laxity.

Dr. Ritrosky utilizes advanced surgical techniques to minimize any potential scarring and optimize the overall result. Incisions are made within the hairline or along the hair margin above the ear, extending down around the lobe and ending in or below the hairline behind the ear. The subcutaneous layers and neck muscles are tightened, the facial skin is re-draped and lifted, and the excess skin is removed. A facelift is a journey towards a more youthful, rejuvenated, and confident you.

What does the healing process look like?

Following your facelift, the patient goes home with their head and neck wrapped in dressings, which are usually removed the following day in a post op visit. Initial swelling or discomfort can be managed with oral pain medication.

Bruising and swelling drastically reduces in 10-20 days, and the final results are typically evident in 4-6 weeks or sooner. As with any other surgical procedure, everyone heals differently. Our team is here to address any questions or concerns before your procedure or during the healing process.

Other Options:

Additional procedures that are frequently paired with facelift to enhance patient results are eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty), brow lifts, peels, dermabrasion, nose reshaping, and CO2 laser skin resurfacing.
